Birthday Celebration

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday great.  I had a terrific day! I am now 24 years old and I feel like I'm a real adult.  I've reached my mid-20's - definitely not a kid anymore!  It still surprises me to realise that I am this old, time sure flies!

On the day before my birthday my friends Jill and Nicole took me out to lunch and to the Jean Talon Market.  Even though I live in the French part of Canada, we were able to spot a Mexican restaurant and ate there.  One thing that I miss most about home is all of the good mexican food.  The food at this place was great, but it was a little weird to be served mexican food by a man speaking French!

For dessert we went to Premiere Moison, a very popular bakery here.  The desserts are always so good!  I got a raspberry mousse sort of thing with an edible chocolate label - delicious!

The morning of my birthday I woke up to a knock on the door and discovered a bouquet of beautiful flowers sent from my family.  What a great way to start the day!

Later that day I went to the Marriott hotel where Ryan works.  His gift to me was a relaxing night at the hotel, including a trip to the spa and a nice dinner at the restaurant.  I felt very pampered, it was wonderful!  Because it was my birthday, I got to choose what we watched in TV that night.  Poor Ryan had to put up with multiple episodes of Say Yes to the Dress.  But I had a little mercy on him and let him watch NHL during commercials.  I must say he was a pretty good sport about it all, and only complained a little.
