Mount Royal is a huge park on top of a hill (or 'mountain' as everyone calls it here) and was designed by the same man who designed Central Park in New York. Let me tell you, it is pretty awesome. There is a lake where you can rent paddle boats in the summer and ice skate on in the winter. There is a hill that is perfect for sledding. There are paths for running or biking and also narrow dirt paths for easy hiking. In certain areas you can forget that you are in a city. The leaves are changing colors and it is very pretty right now.
Here you can see part of the lake and some of the lovely fall colors.
I like this picture of Ryan. Can you believe this is in the middle of a city?
Here I am at the main outlook over the city. It looked cooler in person.
This is the cross that stands on the top of Mount Royal. Back when Montreal was first being settled, the rivers began flooding. The water threatened to destroy the homes and everything that the people had worked so hard to establish. The priest offered a prayer and asked God to stop the waters from coming any further, if God did this, he promised to build a cross on top of the hill in honor of Him. That very night the waters receded and the priest kept his promise. The original cross was made of wood and was further down the hill. The cross that stands now actually lights up and can be seen from far away.

sweet park! That's a perk about Canada, you can have out door skating rinks! By the way, I love Michael buble. One day, I heard one of his songs on the radio and I didn't know who it was and I was like, "I really like this song" and then I found out that it was him and then I was like "hey, isn't that that one guy that Liz and Ryan like." So we have something in common, pretty cool.
