News and such

Yesterday I exchanged my Washington State licence for a Quebec driver's licence.  It's silly, but it was a little sad to be giving up that connection with Washington.  I had to go 35 minutes into the city (to my old neighborhood) to do the licence exchange.  As I walked into the building I was surprised to hear everyone speaking french.  I've gotten so used to the area I live now on the west island, where it is mostly english, that I've forgotten what it was like to be surrounded by french.  I can't help it, but I tense up.  Its always strange to be surrounded by people talking, but have no idea what is going on.  I love the west island.

Ryan found out yesterday that his boss is leaving to work for a different hotel.  His last day is at the end of next week.  It will be an adjustment for the accounting team.  Everyone was finally getting comfortable and confident in their tasks, so a new boss will shake things up. We just hope that they will be able to find a good replacement in such a short time frame.

I've been busy lately.  I just started working another job.  I help a mom out in the mornings. She has a daughter with cerebral palsy and a new baby.  I go and help get everyone ready for the day so that the daughter can get to school on time.  So with this new job in addition to working lunches and daycare, I've been busy.  And it's nice to be busy.
