Visiting Family

May was a busy and fun month for us.  Ryan's parents came to visit us and then shortly after we both went to Utah to visit Ryan's brother.  It was wonderful to see everyone and I know Ryan loved being with his family again.  Noah took to his grandparents right away.  Every morning Noah and Russell would put on their hats and go for a walk down to the main street to watch the traffic go by.  Within a day or two Noah had learned a new word:  "car".

Noah loves playing in the dirt behind our house.  I do not love it.
Watching James play hockey.  Olive is a great cheerleader.
Noah's first pony ride at Thanksgiving point
Miles and Noah loved playing together.  One of their favorite activities was screaming.
My friend Megan just happened to be getting married in Utah the week we were there!  It worked out perfect.  I'm so glad I was able to attend the wedding and also see Nina and Nathan!
This picture was for Ryan's Fathers day present.
Now that our vacation is over, we are counting down to our next vacation (Mount Rainier next month!).  Until then we are back to our normal routine.  Noah has started going to the church nursery on Sundays. We were so worried that he would have a hard time with it, but he didn't even notice us leaving.  After church on his first Sunday in Nursery, he wiggled out of my arms and walked over to one of his nursery leaders to be picked up.  I did not expect that!  But we are very relieved that he likes it so much!
We have started to wean Noah off his pacifier, and it is worse than I expected.  The first couple of days he wouldn't take a nap and was still up until 10pm before we got him to bed.  Lots of meltdowns, lots of crying.  We even tried our old trick of taking him for a car ride to get him to sleep one night.  He did fall asleep in the car, but then woke up when we tried to bring him inside.  Today is day 4, and Ryan was able to get him to take his nap (hallelujah!) Hopefully things will be getting easier now.
