We had a fun Halloween this year! I was excited that this year Noah was old enough to participate and enjoy the Halloween activities. First we went to a party thrown by the Senior Center. Noah laughed at everyone's costumes and enjoyed the cake walk. He wasn't too sure about the other games going on but liked watching the other kids. We also did some trick-or-treating to some of the businesses in town to get us warmed up for the trunk-or-treat at the church later that night. He was nervous to walk up to strangers but once he realized that they gave him candy, he got the hang of it! By the end of the night he would walk up to people on his own and hold out his bucket.
I was disappointed that our stake doesn't do any activities or games with the truck-or-treat, so the day before Halloween I threw a party for all of the preschool age kids in the ward. I'm learning not to have any expectations when planning a party for kids. That way, when the kids destroy a game before anyone has a chance to play...no big deal! At least they had fun for a few minutes. And with 13 kids, you know its going to be a bit crazy! The kids all had fun and the moms had a chance to get together and visit - so I'd say it was a success!
Here are all of the kids at our party. Noah started feeling overwhelmed right before the photo and started crying, so I got to be in the photo as well.
After the trunk-or-treat we ate candy and watched a Halloween Winnie the Pooh. Noah slept better that night than he has in months so I think I will start giving him a bunch of candy right before bed every night. That must be the secret.
