Monday was the coldest weather we've had so far - and it was FREEZING! When I left for work at 10am it was -25 C (which is about -13 F) but the real feel for the day was -38 C ( -36 F!) because of wind and humidity. Even though I had my gloves on, my fingers hurt from the cold by the time I got into work and my face was numb.
I've heard that with weather this cold you can throw a glass of water into the air and it will turn to snow (if it's hot water) or ice (if its cold water) before it hits the ground. Pretty cool. I tried it myself last night, but it didn't work - it was only -14 C. Hopefully it doesn't get that cold again! Here is a video of a Montrealer testing this out a few days ago.
