More Quebec City

Here are a few more pictures from our trip.

There is a wall completely surrounding the old city, build as a protection against invaders.  We aren't really sure who it kept out.  I asked Ryan and he said "the bad guys".  He remembers about as much as I do.

There is a citadel (a fort) right inside the wall, but it is completely hidden by the walls and landscape so that invaders wouldn't have a direct area to target with their cannons.
We walked through the arch to the other side of the wall and almost got hit by a snowboarder coming down from the side of the wall.  Crazy kid.
We think this is the beginning of the ice hotel.  A hotel made out of ice.  People actually pay lots of money to stay here for the night.  I think they must be crazy.
About 20 minutes outside the city is Saint Anne's Cathedral.
Montmorency falls is about 10 minutes outside the city.  It's about 90 feet taller than Niagara falls, but much more narrow.  Its pretty, but doesn't compare to Niagara.

So this ice hotel actually stays frozen? Do they build a new one each winter? It seems a little late in the season to just be starting it. Do they put beds in there or people just lay on the ice? And what about privacy, it's obviously see-through. So crazy, I need details!
I think our hair is about the same length right now which is cool, I don't remember that ever happening before. Are you growing it out because it's so cold? I do it just because I'm lazy and because I'm always scared it will look hideous if I chop it off.
I want to call you but I have a sore throat because I'm sick right now so I guess that's why I'm just rambling on your blog comments. So anyways, hope you're having fun!

I guess that wasn't the ice hotel - maybe just an ice castle? The bed frames are made of ice, but they do have a mattress. Check out some pictures here http://www.icehotel-canada.com/index.php
