This weekend Ryan and I went on a trip to Quebec City. Its one of the oldest cities in North America, the capital city of Quebec and is known for its french atmosphere. It is definitely beautiful. The cold was a little hard to bear (we had to go into shops every so often just to get warm), but well worth it.
From what I am told, Quebec looks very much like a European city. The stone buildings are built right next to each other - no space at all. The sidewalks in some areas were very narrow and the street signs were right on the buildings - not on a pole on the corner.
The Chateau Frontenac. One of the most photographed hotels. It is so pretty lit up!
One of the oldest churches in North America
The Parliament building. The fountain in front was a gift from the owner of the Simon's stores. It cost him 4 million to transport it from France, clean it, repair it, and install it.
Some of the statues on the Parliament building. I think the guy on the right looks like George Washington.
